Like I said before -- I heard them on display at Sound-Scape many years ago driven by Conrad Johnson electronics. The 3-D imaging was first rate but they sounded better without the bass compensation box in the signal path. I believe that they will come around as the source improves. They are not a "band-aid" by any stretch of the imagination. The devil is in the details.

I do not need the "Bass Compensation" box (which supposedly give one the choice of either a Q of .7 or .5), since I am EQing the bass with the DSP, which I will keep. The DSP works fine below 150 hz and I cannot hear the crappy digital artifacts

Thanks Roscoe
I am familiar with "esp". I have built some of his stuff years ago.
I was looking at some Chinese rip-off on eBay but with your suggestion I may go with the real thing.
I think with the low frequency of the pass at 150hz I should go for more than 12db/October.
The analog cover is hard for me to follow. I'll scan it a publish it. It looks like it could be 12db/octave but not sure
