Speaking of "snake oil" -- a new fad has started in Japan where the ultimate compact disc is made with glass as opposed to polycarbonate. Here is one example:

I don't know about you guys, but a $2,000 CD just does not tempt me even if I had deep pockets which I don't.

They had a discussion at RMAF2017 about glass master CD's. Basically the format the CD stamping master is made from to press polycarbonate CD's.

I asked them how the CD ripped to file would sound compared to the spinning disc. No one would answered.

Would rather have the HiRez WAV files instead.
