Pretty much all CAF vendors who do mono do so with a pair of speakers.

If you are going to only have one speaker, make sure it is something that is impressive to look at.

Speaker, amp, source and voice commands. Impressive! Very high Spouse Approval Factor.

Tried to give you guys a little Bluetooth speaker. Free. No strings attached. But, no. You guys can't just accept the gesture.

A no baffle speaker. It's interesting to see how the design changed as you scroll through the posts.

Or have an acoustically transparent curtain in front of the speakers so people don't know what they are listening to and form their opinions based purely on what they hear.

I don't believe the room would be big enough for that.

Obviously, I have not heard them but from the comments, it appears others have and have been impressed. The builder appears to enjoy playing his music at levels that I would find too loud. What I find intriguing is that the woofers he uses have a QTS of 0.53 and presumably this is high enough to work in an OB application. The fs is 19.5 hz so low notes can apparently be handled.

Come on Roscoe, this is right up your alley. You know you want to do it.

I have been contemplating taking my Goldwood 18's and making a mono version. Put a PRV full ranger on a stalk and somehow disguise the 18" speakers in the appropriately shaped speaker with acoustically transparent sides and behold, you would have a Dalek.

Thanks for the link, Ray. Great read. Lots of food for thought.
