Next year I will be moving back to Australia and I have to start getting rid of a bunch of stuff including a couple of Baldwin amps that were given to me years ago.

https://baldwin40watt.blogspot.com/2010/12/restoring-couple-of-baldwin-40-watt.html

I never got around to working on the amps so I would like to pass them on to someone who might be able to use them. I will bring them to Tubedriver's Friday night meet at CAF along with some other stuff including a box of 32 of the same drivers that Roscoe used in the line array.

Everything will be free to a good home.

In case you are interested, this is where I will be moving to.

Where you are moving looks really nice! Is there a larger city nearby? I saw that photos of the blue ball you found on the beach after you poked it with a stick. Using a stick is probably advisable in Aus.

The name of the town is Urangan and it is about 200 miles north of Brisbane. I grew up in the nearby town of Maryborough. If you scroll down towards the end of the following blog you will see a map of the area and we are thinking of moving to a unit in the Breakfree where we just did a five week house exchange.

http://ratbagp.blogspot.com/2018/09/blo ... angan.html

The island off the coast is Fraser Island and it's the largest sand island in the world.

Our daughter lives in Sydney and gave us a good talking to about getting cracking on moving to Oz. It will be a new experience living in a unit where I will have to think about noise levels and consequently I will be looking into headphones when I go to CAF.

They should be rebuilt and brought to C.A.F.

What else are you bringing?

Headphones are an option (especially at night) but this is also a perfect excuse to get a set of LS3/5s! Despite their inefficiency, they are an easy load and work well with tube amps, even SETs! 8wpc SET or a PP EL84 amp and LS3/5s setup nearfield would be nice.

I'll put together a list of what I will be giving away and post it next week before CAF. I have to dig a bit. There are some power transformers. OZ uses 240 volts and I can of course use a step down transformer but I would prefer to limit what I take with me.

I'll probably have room for my existing speakers and there is a faint possibility of being able to rent a room well away from neighbours. We shall see.

Getting back to the subject of headphones, I will need to get big over the ear phones after my experience with IEMs. My wife got annoyed with me because she would be talking away to me and I couldn't notice because I could only hear the music thru the IEMs. She didn't see that I was wearing them.

He’s offering them for free, feel free to take them, rebuild them, and bring them to CAF...

I have posted on my blog some other items that I will give away free at the Friday soiree.

https://baldwin40watt.blogspot.com/2018/10/other-stuff-free.html

Items that go home with me will go to the dump.

It's an interesting exercise working out what to take to Oz and what to get rid of.
