Interested in trying out a NOS DAC? The Starting Point Systems DAC 3 is a non-oversampled, non-filtered, battery powered (or USB port powered), USB dac. Inputs include USB, S/PDIF coax, optical. If input is USB, the USB 5v line powers the DAC and charges the battery, otherwise it can be run on battery power. The sound quality is traditional NOS/non-filtered.....ie smooth, easy to listen to but not the last word on detail and dynamics. Was used in my office system which has changed. $200 local sales only.

Does it come with a power supply?

No, it is powered and it’s internal battery is charged by the 5v line in USB connection. You would have to get a simple 5v power supply like this:

Or you could easily DIY one or buy a fancy audiophile approved 5v PS.

I do have a bunch of old switching PSs down in my basement, if I find a 5v one, I’ll throw it in with the DAC.
