The listing is for a complete unassembled North Creek Music - Echo 5.0 speaker kit.

The Echo comes in component form, crossover unassembled but with detailed cabinet drawings and crossover assembly plans that can also be directly downloaded from this site. Drivers are top notch - the North 13W-06S 5" woofer and North D25-06S silk dome tweeter. Assembly encompasses all aspects of speaker building and is an excellent project for the beginning speaker builder and/or audiophile looking for more insight into the loudspeaker manufacturing process.

Echo Bookshelf Monitor Kit - Two speakers (1 woofer, 1 tweeter)(x2) + Crossover
Echo MTM Center Channel Kit - One Speaker (2 woofer's, 1 tweeter) + Crossover
Echo MTM Mini-Tower Kit - Two Speakers (2 woofer's, 1 tweeter)(x2) + Crossover

I know at one point the North D25-06S was considered one of the best budget tweeters - and 5 brand new in box are included in this kit.

This system is not a high-output system (e.g., SVS, HSU, etc.), but its still a high-quality system.

Why does anyone build shielded drivers any more? CRTs are history....

And there are those that have no clue what a CRT is and those that do think that speaker magnets can influence LCD displays. OY VEY!

Magnets are magical!

Years (decades) ago I went to a chiropractor, Dr. Steven Helschien in Columbia, MD. He had a nice practice, great PT department and helped my back greatly. So far so good. He also had massage therapists and a "dentist who doesn't "do" teeth" on site who cured my ice pick and cluster migraine headaches.

Then, he decided to enter the business of Holistic medicine. After a suitable three week "cleansing" period of nothing but water, veggies and not much more, I returned to his office to be "evaluated".

Here is where it gets weird. This is the evaluation procedure:

Step 1, hold a plastic medicine jar, filled with the substance (medicine, supplement, etc.) in question against the top of my head, while I'm seated. I outstretch an arm. The "doc", standing in front of me, pushes down on my arm, gauging my strength.

Step 2, repeat above holding a magnet between my head and the medicine.

Results are, if I'm better able to resist the downward force without the magnet, then the medicine is helpful.

Good thing there were no flies in the room, they would have swarmed into my jaw agape mouth.

Told him: "let's stick to the chiropractic end of things".

You can't make this shit up.

Sorry guys. To be clear - I didn't put the kit together. The kit came with shielded drivers.

North Creek closed doors several years ago.

This is just an old stock kit.

I will revise the initial listing to remove the "shielded" description. Sorry about the confusion.
