I shouldn't even be awake at 7AM, let alone posting, but I have to pick somebody up at the airport.

That's what coffee is for. :o

Turned out it was a series of various pink Noise signals on a 2CD Delos (audiophile) Demo package -
so yes, Audiophile test signals are the best ;)

But last night after work I just played - put some thick foam blocks under the front edge to tip the speakers back a bit so they point at my ears when I'm in my easy chair. Then I played all kinds of stuff - lots of old Fleetwood mac, YoYo Ma, California Guitar Trio, Boz Scaggs (Dig - Thanks to You), Bryan Ferry, even Elton John (1st album- I need you to Turn to ... just listen to the harpsichord mechanism work ...) ... some flaws, but mostly Fun!

The Rauland-Borg horns (clone of a Renkus Heinz SSH-800) arrives late today - maybe I'll try that Saturday if I get some time ...

Gotta scoot!

One of the problems with either source is that the RTA integrates all the energy whether direct or reflected but you brain reacts differently to the early direct sound and the delayed room reflections.

I moved the sound quality/frequency response discussion to a new thread in General Discussions...
