From the time I was a child I've concentrated listening to the room and position of musicians in recordings. I worked in an audio salon in Baltimore for 17 years and have always found tubes and analog to really do it for me. I ran sound boards on weekends for a few years. When my hobby transitioned to surround sound I really tried to enjoy solid state amps but failed. I now use 7 channels of tube amplification and have aligned the speakers/room/listening position to allow it to image correctly and not be distracting. I now need to figure out how to get rid of the transistors in the processor/preamp. |
