And are you sitting down? Those original RCAs as created by RCA was used in television tuners and had -- wait for it -- here it comes -- a 75-ohm characteristic impedance.

I have a boxful of diy cables. Mainly low mass, solid core copper with the cheapest, lightest RS connectors. You are welcome to take a pair. What length do you need?

I've had great success with Belden 7502 and nickel-plated, extra-long Neutrik RCA plugs. I occasionally try fancier cables but keep coming back to this. Very open and neutral. Mouser sells the Belden for $300 for a 250 foot reel, about the same price and "budget" audiophile cables. You can make any lengths you want. ;-)

I can't comment on RCA connectors as I don't know what would fit these HH Scott amps but there seems to be some good suggestions already. I use KLE Innovations harmony RCAs. 26 gauge 9999 pure silver wire in 4 AWG teflon tubes (part #5335K24 from mcmaster). That combination works very well in my system.

Belden was the silent partner in the audio cable revolution many decades ago. I looked up the 7502. NICE!

What with the stranded copper conductor nestled in a "bed" polyethylene foam it's tough to go wrong.

Thanks, at least a meter pair to reach from my table to the Scott...

Thanks for all the help guys, its most appreciated! I am moving on those connectors, Walt, and another suggestions regarding the cable. I'm afraid a 250' reel of Belden would get me kicked right out of the house though...
