Post subject:  New dsp crossover from minidsp?

Has anyone looked into the opendrc-da8 signal processor by minidsp -

https://www.minidsp.com/products/opendr ... pendrc-da8

The product description says -

Introducing the OpenDRC-DA8, a cost-effective multichannel audio processor
with FIR filtering capabilities. Powered by an Analog Devices SHARC proces-
sor, the OpenDRC-DA8 is a perfect solution for active loudspeakers, and acts
as a DAC and preamp as well as crossover. The input digital stream passes
through an Asynchronous Sample Rate Converter (ASRC), so any input sample
rate up to 216 kHz is supported, and the Asahi Kasei 8-channel DAC provides
unbalanced audio outputs via RCA connectors.

Any comments?

No USB2 Audio support from the information, only for program loading. Prefer that over the S/PDIF input, since most USB2 interfaces are now asynchronous.

Audio processing at either 48KHz or 96KHz is below or at same rate as DCX2496 and others, but not what newer DSP crossovers can do. I like ADC's and DAC's running above 96KHz from the listening I have done to DSP crossovers.

No mention of ADC used for analog inputs. They are using an AKM 8-channel DAC Codec.

No balanced outputs.

Price is low.

In my very humble opinion
I have tried minidsp products three times over the years when I was trying multiple amps and electronic xovers.
Everything about these products is great except the sound.
Build qualit, cost, software are great. The problem is the glassy constricted sound. The
