You might want to look into your music player choice. To realize the benefits of DSD, you would need DSD Direct input. When I was using Daphile, it was not capable of DSD Direct. You might want to try foobar2000 instead.

I'm fairly sure Daphile can do that now...

Did you get the 'weaked' edition?

Hmmmm, gotta appreciate their honesty. The difference between regular and weekend edition is only $10. I guess the weekend edition used "real cheap" capacitors and Opamps, instead of "really cheaper imitation" capacitors and opamps.

Tom - I'll be happy to get you set up with Foobar to play DSD natively or DOP.

I got this to run off my PC. My main server is using Daphile into the DEQX. On my PC I currently have Foobar so thanks Dave for the setup help. I'll bring it over when the holidays are over. I'll be testing with that setup through the eggs.

Yes I got the "weaked" version for whatever that means. BTW, my very old capacitor testor that required the use of a separate DVM just died after about 40 years of use. Today I received a new LCR tester from Amazon. It was reasonably priced and seems very nice. So far I have just measured a few caps using the auto function but it is nice to be able to test at 100 Hz, 120 Hz, 1KHz, 10KHz and 100 KHz. It also has lots of other functions. The only downside is it came with a Chinese instruction book. I downloaded the English version but I emailed the vendor to see if they have a hard copy version. Something to play with over the holidays when I'm in PA with family. Here is a link.

Did it have an English manual? If so there is hope they may have a hard copy they could send.
