I caught an advertisement on television about the Versa Cutter and it appears that this gizmo can be the answer to easily cutting sheet metal.

Previously I had to use tin snips. UGH! A Saber saw or band saw is just as bad and awkward to use. :(

I ordered the Versa Cutter today and can't wait to get my hands on it. Here is the link:

I did some "homework" and found that an Australian industrial company invented the device and holds a patent for it. They are licensing it out and one on TV is the same one the originator sells with a different color. Also, you get a nice set of accessories with it that cost extra "Down Under."

BTW -- it's considered an alternative to a plasma cutter. COOL!
:D

If it works like the video then it will be useful as a bench tool.
Looks awkward as a hand tool.

You might do better with this -

than a cheap Chinese tool that will get dull quickly. I am wary of anything that is advertised on cable TV.

Not Chinese. It is the exact same tool the inventors are selling with hardened bits.

This tool is similar to what I used to call a nibbler.
It has a lot of advantages compared to a shear-type device, especially when working in tight confines.

YUP! It is a nibbler!

I have been using this nibbler for over 50 years and it works great. Slower than motorized but unless you have production work it is not a problem and much easier to use especially in tight places than a tool you connect to a drill.

My hand aches just thinking about using a manual nibbler. OUCH!
