Looking to get a MM phono stage to play around with a MM cartridge that I have. I have a nice tubed MC phonostage but don't want to mod it by bypassing the STs. I have a mediocre solid state MM stage but it only gives me an idea of how good this cartridge is. Anybody have a DIY MM phono stage project that is collecting dust in a closet? Thanks.

I built a combo MM RIAA stage and line preamp board that I used for Jeff's project and also to re-do my analog preamp. I have two boards left plus the components to populate them. Jose (Dr. Vinyl) was very impressed with the performance and I am loaning him a stand alone unit that has MC, MM and line stage for a few weeks. When he is through with it you can try it in your setup. I'll be delivering it to him this Saturday at the DC Hi-Fi party at Gary's. If you are going you can talk with Jose and also David Berning about it. David was very impressed with the performance, especially the exceptionally low noise level.

Thanks Tom. I am not a member of that group but would like to hear your preamp at some point.

Sounds like it's time for some solder fumes at Pete's house ;)

You volunteering? I always have a nice selection of cold, tasty IPAs around to help with inspiration!

I have never looked at MM preamps, any suggestions for good starting point?
