So I have a DAC>2' interconnect>autoformer preamp>10' interconnect> amps

Could it sound different if I went DAC>10' interconnect>preamp>2' interconnect> amps?

Assume the DAC has a robust output stage (is designed to drive interconnects and amp), amps have 100K input impedance.

I know I can try to see if I hear any change but conceptually should it matter? I sort of see it as A+B = C and B+A = C in that the sum of the component variables remains unchanged?

With an autoformer volume control, probably not much difference. If you were running a resistive volume control, you'd probably be better off with the shorter interconnects after the volume control...
