Here is some info on the new USB spec that has just been accepted internationally.

At least it looks like they finally made a plug that can be plugged in either way. Incredibly stupid that they didn't do that at USB 1.0....

yeah now everybody will look at the plug for five minutes trying to figure out which way it goes in instead of just trying it and if it does not fit don't acquit

Actually it does look like it would be a problem but luckily not. And it will be easier to use the connector.
