Some people do not know (or respect) the native value of "certain things" -- nothing is "trash" indeed -- LOL (or cry) .....

It's interesting you put that up here. Last year I went to NYC for the first time. We went to this flea market in Brooklyn that is actually in the basement of a very old bank. Was pretty neat actually. A few vendors were literally set up in the old safe. I ended up running into a guy I went to high school with, hadn't seen in over 10 years, but he was selling iphone cases made of old records. They were really neat - but I don't currently nor will I ever buy an iphone so I didn't purchase one, but on his business card it literally read "I promise- no good vinyl was harmed in the making of this case"

I am not a huge fan of vinyl - there are certain things they do that I am just not a huge fan of, but I certainly wouldn't melt them down like that.

Anybody who intentionally destroys ANY vinyl record deserves to be smashed repeatedly with a sledgehammer.

oh come off it! There is SO much used vinyl in absolutely crap shape that finding any useful function is better than shit-canning it, just go to a Goodwill to see how much crap records that need a better life than sitting in those shelves, and I see plenty of vinyl in used record stores that should be used for heating fuel rather than being pawn off on unsuspecting buyers, just wish there was a better way to recycle crap vinyl...

One of those things was a Star Wars soundtrack.

She needs to be thrown into The Great Pit of Carkoon, where she will be digested over a 1000years.

too bad there isn't a way to really recycle vinyl, at least that I am aware of, there is mega tons of old records that are conditionally shot and/or just dreck, all those whitebread records (mantovani, mitch miller, inspirational, etc.) that need a re-purposing outside of the dump. At least they are not being used for reground....
