I want to mount some 10" woofers in some 2 foot sections of Sonotube.

Will these behave as dipoles with the length of the tub equivalent to the baffle width in a typical dipole?

Thanks,

Chris

Yes and no. How's that for a non-answer? Yes, the path-length should behave approximately like a 2' radius open baffle, but keep in mind that a tube will have resonances, probably with a fairly high Q (AKA bad) that you'll need to deal with unless you keep the frequency range of the woofer quite limited....

It's probably just going to be a subwoofer, but I'm going to run it full range at first and see what I hear.
