Joel M. came by last night with a coworker friend of his who is just learning about DIY and tubes. He has already built an amp of some sort with Joel's tutelage, and is next going to build a single -ended KT88 amp.
Ben is a nice guy with great taste in music, good ears and apparently good builder skills.
It's a rare pleasure to introduce a new guy to what we do, what is possible and how to achieve superior results.
It was a fun evening, especially since I hadn't seen Joel in a long time.
I've let lots of people listen to my systems over the years, but very few are motivated to attempt something themselves. How many times have you heard someone say "well my ears aren't that good, I can't hear the difference"? So what a rare pleasure to demonstrate to someone who appreciates the sound and is about to start building for himself!
