Any of you that know of this recording -- and better yet -- have a copy -- the recording quality puts you sitting at table in front of the Jazz group. The better your system the better the playback.

The technical and methodology information I obtained years ago about this recording was dead wrong!

Although the primary microphones were a stereo pair -- they had others going through a Studer mixing desk together with Dolby Noise reduction.

Awesome Sauce!!

Everything in the Memoire indicated that they were looking for the best recording quality possible and they certainly nailed it!

I attached an edited version as a keep-sake.

It's really sad how little really well recorded really good music there is outside of the Classical world...

there are a lot of poorly recorded classical LP also.
My argument goes if there are good recordings then they know how to do it .....then why are there bad recordings

Thanks for the info Walt. Once when I was in Stockholm walking down the street I did a double take and said oh boy, there is the Pawnshop. It was early in the day so It was closed but I was amazed to see it right there in front of me.

That was cool. Did you try to get in there for a show later in the day?

Because there are a lot more people making recordings than there are who actually know how to do it....
