JJJ There are a number of good reports of using Gold Lion KT66's in the 240, with no overheating problems and nice sound. You can google it. The ARC, I don't know, that's 2.4 amps more current and might be a problem. Other interesting 6L6 variants are the Tung-Sol 7581a, a very nice, well-balanced tube and very affordable. Also the new Tung-Sol 6l6G, in a coke-bottle envelope, is a nice tube with a vintage look but rated the same as a 6L6GC. They're about the same price as the KT66. |
