Daphile/Qobuz

FYI, the new v20 beta downloads for Daphile will now stream from Qobuz up to 24/192 (earlier versions were limited to redbook). Still redbook for Tidal as far as I can tell.

Well, just like DIY speakers/amps don't work for your line of work, Daphile probably doesn't either....

I may give it a try.
I plan to compare the music quality between the $35 RasPi and the $4k Innuous

Roscoe,

Is the latest Daphile release running LMS 8.0? I am running that on my Synology NAS, and getting full Qobuz HiRes (up to 24/192) as well.

For you streamers out there, I just received up a nice little device from Intona in Germany that is an Industrial USB Filter/Isolator that I installed at the output of my RPi4 running PiCorePlayer. It has been out for a couple or three years, and has received quite a few positive reviews. It takes its power from the USB Bus, therefore does not need a low noise power supply. There is a newer version that can be powered, mainly to support downstream devices that rely on USB supplied power greater than 5V/300mA (and up to 5V/2A). The DAC I am using (a CHORD Qutest) has USB isolation at the input, but it still seems to help, cleaning up the background (quieter and darker) opening up and relaxing the sound, i.e. more sense of space. No perceived loss of dynamics. Not cheap (around $350 including express shipping from Germany), but it does seems to be a real upgrade to the sound quality of a RPi4 as a renderer without going down the pathway of a fully designed music renderer/server. It should work great at the output of a NUC running Daphile feeding into a USB DAC (in fact, most people are using this with a MacBook or laptop). I think there a used unit on USAudioMart for $200 right now.

Just passing this along.
