My computer video card sometimes crashes when I watch videos from other sites but not YouTube. I can watch YouTube all day-n-night. The video crashes, recovers, then Windows blue screens, and then reboots. Is it time for a new video card? |

Why do you think it is a hardware problem and not software (win 10)? Also do you have a separate card or is the graphics processor on the motherboard? |

mix4fix wrote: Windows 7 Asus motherboard Radeon videocard Any recommendations on video driver to try? That depends on how old your video card is. If it's relatively new, just use the AMD driver update tool https://www.amd.com/en/support However, new drivers aren't always stable with really old video cards. What driver are you using now? AMD, Microsoft...? |

mix4fix wrote: Windows 7 Asus motherboard Radeon videocard Any recommendations on video driver to try? Steve: Welcome to reality. Microsoft stopped supporting Windows 7 a long time ago. That lack of support impacts everything. I've been through the changeover hell and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. It's time you dusted off your wallet and go for the gusto. You'll get pissed off at the "gremlins" in Windows 10, but at least everything will work as it should. |

I'm still running Windows 7 and plan on keeping it that way. I don't update drivers unless there's a reason to suspect that a driver is in fact causing a problem. If it ain't broke, don't break it. As far as the crashing issue I suspect it's the porn web sites video streams that are causing the problem, not the graphics card. Are you watching in a browser when you have the problem? If you decide to upgrade to Windows 10 anyway, you can still do it for free, at least you could a few months ago: https://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-download-windows-10-for-free-now-that-windows-7-is-dead/ |

If you do go with Windows 10, during the install basically reply no to all the extras Windows wants to install. If you do that you will wind up with a much cleaner more stable system. |
