I know that many DIY'ers have built their own pre-amps that do not have remote control capability like the many commercial products out there on the market.

I stumbled on an eBay offering who's time has come -- check it out:

Interesting that you can use 4 pots for balanced inputs. There are some other solutions out there that also allow remote switching of the inputs.

I used a similar product a few years back. Works well. Used a 4-gang Alps motorized pot. Paralleled sections to net a 25k pot, but with two wipers per channel.

The one posted should be excellent for a simpler build.

Nice! Pre-amp remote control is NOT a luxury! It is a necessity! Again nice!

I get a giggle when I hear Vinyl guys say remote control for a preamp is a must. (not singling you out Walt!!)

I am 100% digital music guy. I never have to get up from my chair to change the music and never cared about the remote volume control.

Then the phone rings or your wife comes into the room with a question. ;)
