Are there speakers with drivers facing in another direction?

Mostly I listen with my speakers to the south of me which means they roughly face north. When I move to Australia, I am expecting my speakers to be towards the north east of my listening position so they will roughly face south west which is another direction.

However there is a theory (which I just made up) that the magnet structures need to align perfectly with the earth's magnetic field so I may delve more deeply into this when I reach Australia. Or maybe not.

Then again, there are those who experiment with degree of toe in or toe out. Some of you might remember the song about doing the hokey pokey.

On a more serious note, I plan to experiment with this arrangement in my next setup. I have four of the cheap 15" GRS woofers and two of the 5" PRVs. I plan to hang them with bungee cords without any baffle to minimize vibration.

To answer the question more seriously, I think there have been quite a few speakers that have been mounted facing towards the rear, towards the ceiling or towards the floor. Of course there are the sloping front panel speakers.

Perhaps I should go for a walk to regain my sanity.

Bose 901s had speakers front and rear. Pioneers CS-05s had down facing woofers and tweeters facing in different directions.

What I am asking is the pros and cons of doing that.

Thanks for the clarification.

When you think about it, open baffle speakers face both forward and backwards.

There were also the Allison One, or IC-20, and the AR LST speakers, which had angled faces with drivers. Seems like the report is more spacious sound, vs. more pinpoint imaging with front-facing speakers. It’s a choice -which realistic sound do you want?

My original Von Schweikert VR-4s (2ch upstairs system) have an (additional) rear facing tweeter with a level control to set ambience.

Down in the multichannel/TV room, I have a pair of DCM TF-600s for the rear surround (7.1 system) that have rear facing tweeters -
with the right film with good rear channels, the room seems to expand due to them!

I've got coaxial 2-way UREI 809As for front mains and side surrounds, and a JBL B-460 sub, so all the speakers are US made! ;)

Here is what I amp getting: Larsen speakers have speakers facing other than front or rear. How do you make them work?

Hegeman speakers come to mind -

Larsen speakers are designed to be up against the wall facing out towards the listener.
Of course in your own home you can do anything you want
