Just sitting here drinking a lemon drop martini when I realized it was not quite 5 PM yet. See what corona virus can do to you. BYW, one of the earliest discoveries of a corona virus happened in 1949. The little buggers have been around for a while.

Last night at dinner my wife and I were talking about how people returning to Australia have to go into immediate quarantine for 14 days in specially prepared hotels. I suggested they should be sent to the old Quarantine Station at Sydney's North Head. Lo and behold, this article appeared this afternoon.

Here is my blog entry when we visited the station in 2016. A lemon martini would go down quite well sitting in quarantine looking out at the harbour. A cold beer or glass of wine would also be pretty good.

Homemade masks are being made for my infusions next week. There is still debate whether I should enter the infusion center with a paper bag over my head in addition to the mask.

Good idea on the hotel for quarantine. I also heard that indigenous Australians are especially susceptible to the virus.

Here is an interesting article about the virus and indigenous communities. It suggests that pre-existing issues such as diabetes and renal failure contribute to the problem.

I have a couple of doctor friends who I met in India a few years ago. They mostly practice in remote indigenous communities and it's quite different from regular hospitals and cities.
