I decided to upgrade my Jelco TK-750M 10" tonearm that has been on my Teres 340 turntable for a couple of years, with a Jelco TK-850L, knife bearing 12" arm. Just received it today and set it up this afternoon. Barely fit, I had to swing out the arm board almost normal to the platter edge to get the spindle to pivot distance correct. Very impressed on first listen, much better detail retrieval, solid, spacious, and unstrained. I will have more time over the weekend to fine tune the setup, but even now, with my newly retipped Benz Ruby 3, I am in vinyl heaven.

Great news! I really like my SA-750LB, which doesn't appear to be on their website any more....

Roscoe,

My old arm is a SA-750M, not TK-750M, my mistake. But it IS a good arm, but the new knife bearing arms from Jelco are top notch by all reports. The replacement for the SA-750 arms are the TS-550 arms. The geometry has been updated so easier to align to Lofgren A/B, and a new counterweight design that accommodates a wider range of cartridge weights, but appears to be the same.

However, I cannot get over how much better the TK-850L sounds.
