is their a device you can buy and just provide a source for the free internet channels that exist?

If you don't need super hifi, watch the audio sites for a used Squeezebox. I bought one when they were first introduced. Fabulous device, and simply add it to your network and you've got internet radio. You can serve music from storage also, but that'll require a software installation. Since virtually all internet radio stations are broadcast in mp3, it's lack of high fidelity won't be that obvious.

The same concept of an interface but newer is the Bluesound Node. Several generations available used at this point.

Roscoe,

Is that the Radio Tunes stations, or actual (WBJC, WAMU, WPFW, etc.) radio stations? Streaming directly to a dac? I'm not familiar with the Daphile software.

I found them. They could do the trick. Can you add any?

I will continue to window shop for a cheap device.

Now, if I could the Daphile to produce sound. I tried two different DACs, changed settings, and still not getting sound.

Go into the audio settings and delete all the audio devices except the one you want. You'll need to restart to apply the changes...

Didn't work on the crappy DAC. Worked on another DAC.

Get two of them and see if you can get them to start an endless babble fest to each other?
