fellow DC area audiophile has passed away

March 7th, 2019, 11:54 pm

Some of you know Ron Lyles from back in the day at Deja Vu Audio. I just learned that he passed away a few months back. He was a nice guy and I have seldom met anyone who simply enjoyed music in the way that he did. He never got caught on brand names, pretty boxes or price, he just listened....honestly.

He always tried to make the CAF show and I talked with him about meeting at the 2018 CAF. He was fighting cancer and I knew from our talks that it was pretty grim but he was determined to make it long enough to attend the 2018 CAF. Unfortunately, when I tried to reach him a little before the show, his number was disconnected and I was unable to contact him.

He was an audiophile in the best sense of the word, a real lover of music and I'll miss his infectious laugh and friendly personality.

Godspeed Ron.

I did not have the pleasure of knowing him, but he sounds like he was a wonderful soul.

Rest in peace Ron Lyles.

That's what I remember Pete, he really enjoyed the music and it showed.

I knew Ron from the old Deja Vu days, he was a great guy. Last time I saw him was in our room at CAF in 2017, he was obviously uncomfortable, but was still having a good time. One of the good guys lost...
