Just heard WPFW in Washington finally (sadly) pulled their tube station transmitter out and are installing a transistor based transmitter. Maybe they have a box of 845s laying around?

Heard a couple DJs this morning say "...yeah, that old transmitter had those Edison things that light up on top. Crazy, can't believe it worked all these years...."

Hard to say. The 845s were audio modulators (AM radio) and designed for thousands of hours MTBF. How many thousands? I don't know. Yet -- I am not sure how the 845 would be used in a FM transmitter. Are there any old fart DIYs out there that can shed light on this thread?
