Wishlist:

1. Ease of use
2. 3D modeling
3. Auto generation of parts drawings and BOM
4. Cutting layout of parts from a given stock of MDF.

Not really what you are asking for, but probably what you need.

Free? No. $100

I've used earlier versions at work and home for years. Very easy to work with, but I'm almost exclusively using the 2D functions. Very capable software.

Saw the videos on YouTube. Seems to be a capable CAD package designed for "engineers". Couple of other free CAD packages I saw were like clay modeling exercises, joining and manipulating basic rendered 3D shapes.
