Yes. I forget what year but it was at least a decade ago. He liked his cigarettes.

He seems to still be publishing articles. Check out
http://www.waltjung.orgHe was interviewed in an AudioXpress article in 10/2012

I don't know who was interviewed but it wasn't Walter G. Jung of IC Op-Amp fame. He lived about 20-minutes north of here. If he was alive I would still be hanging out with him.

AudioXpress occasionally reissues old articles. They post the original publication date when they do that.

Walt was published many times in the old Audio Amateur magazine along with Gary Galo and Dick Marsh -- but that was many "moons" ago.

Well, I am certainly confused, in that someone seems to still be writing articles in his name (see attached). Note the use of a Depletion Mode MOSFET as a current source. I also remember some recent articles (past few years) in AudioXpress on current sources by him. This is all a bit more "current" than a 2006 obit would imply.

And further evidence - an article from Oct 2008 in Electronic Design, two years after his supposed demise:

Anyway, enough, sorry for hijacking this thread.

I have no clue what is going on but I can personally guarantee that Walt passed away. There is no Walt, jr.
