DIY AK4495S DAC with USB input.

Next trial is an AK4495S DAC board with the Q 1 style XU208 interface. This is the next generation XMOS chip set XU208 vs the X8 on the Amanero board.

Waiting on the new U208 style XMOS USB to I2S Board board to arrive. Coming from China, so have no idea when it will get here.

The AK4495SEQ board has filter selections, but no description. Think I figured it out 4, but there is a 5th filter not selectable that is new called the superslow rolloff for the S version chip. Have to figure that one out as well.

Probably get it after RMAF, so will work on it then as well.

Again, my main interest is using my htpc as an everything source. Since everything is going through the htpc can anyone recommend a good two channel adc for my analog turntable?

No experience with a DIY multichannel DAC or DIY ADC.

I really do not like ESS DAC's, so no other feedback.

Hal what are you concerns about the Sabre chips?

Never liked the sound quality of any ESS DAC I have heard. From the little information available, they are linear phase filters. Just not my cup of tea.
