Found a guts shot of the latest version of the dspNexus 2x8 modular system at AXPONA 2023.

Tom,
They are signing up a few people for the Early Adopter program at the show. I am already on the list and should get one after the show. There were 5 of these built with production parts. They have parts to build 45 more by June for sale is the latest info they put out.

Early Adopters is like a Beta Test program for the hardware and software. I am still using the prototype system that I have been testing with the latest firmware updates. Mine does not have the latest ADC board with the AKM AK5586 IC. The gain has been modified to have the 0-21dB gain + a 40dB gain setting for RIAA phono with a MM cartridge via balanced connection to the cartridge. I have a TT setup and moding the wiring for balanced connection. A friend gave me his fathers LINN Sondek LP12 with IItok arm and AT MM cartridge. It maybe the easiest I have to mod the wiring.

Hoping that sometime next week I get shipping info. Once I know, will post about it.

Rich

Have the prototype dspNexus 2x8 working with the Magnetar2 speakers for measurements. The new software engages the XLR balanced mic and ADC for measurements. This looks to be the software version to be released with the Early Adopter program dspNexus 2x8 system.

Have my Behringer ECM8000 mic that Wadenhome Sound calibrated to their standard measurement mic and using that data with Room EQ Wizard for speaker and room measurements.

Have the Orchard Audio Starkrimson monoblock Class D amps that you can get them as kits running the Radian LM10n planar in the folded open baffle for making measurements and listening. These are the standard modules, not the new Ultra version. Already a 150W rms amp into the 6 Ohm load.

The first Early Adopter dspNexus 2x8 is on the way! :)

The Magnetar II is setup for testing. Set the time gate in REW for quasi-anechoic response measurements and this is the LM10n in the baffle with just a high pass filter for testing. Will be easy to EQ it pretty flat up to 20KHz. Has nice wide horizontal dispersion as well. :)

After some work on the dspNexus 2x8 crossover for the Magnetar II planar driver we now have this frequency and phase response with a quasi-anechoic farfield measurement. Looks pretty good to me.

The next step is to nearfield measure the servo subs and adjust the crossovers to match at the -6dB down points.

Once the final baffles are completed, will take pictures.

The Early Adopter dspNexus 2x8 is here!

Waiting on the planar baffles to be painted to install the Radian LM10n's.

I have learned my lesson. My audio room is now flooded and my two 6x12 raw sub cabinets and amp boxes in "water resistant" MDF are toast. Everything that was painted is fine. Now I build them and take them to painting before anything else. UGH!!! :(

Oh, that's the worst. I had a pair of enormous transmission line subs made from two layers of 3/4" particle board back in the 80s. 6' tall, they were incredibly heavy, and destroyed when my basement flooded.

Sorry to hear that happened to you. Not fun.

Have you done anything to minimize chances of future floods?
