I have a line.even pink noise generator and want to reduce output to around 2 millivolts (.002 )
To use to burn in a new phono preamp
Any suggestions

Assuming the generator output is about 1.0v, a voltage divider with a 10k and a 20ohm resistor should be about right.... However, pink noise has a falling frequency response, and a phono cartridge has a rising frequency response, so you may want to run it through a reverse RIAA stage before you send it to the phono stage. You will, if the reverse RIAA is passive, have to figure out the voltage divider when you figure out what the 1kHz output is after the reverse RIAA.

Handy thing to have around for phonostage breaking in, as well as checking equalization.

If you've got a cartridge you don't like (or that's basically shot) and a record you don't care about, you can do it the old fashioned way ;) Now, where did I put that record changer....

I have never had a new piece of equipment sound this good out-of-the-box
kit completed last night and it passed the smoke test.
first listening right now after letting power supply caps settle in overnight.
Sounds quite good, not splashy at all. Top to bottom is really good.
not much depth of image yet, we will see after some burning in.
