Europe is way ahead of us for going digital on radio just like TV a few years ago.
Britain is maybe a year from going all digital.
I do all my radio listening by streaming
WBJC is very good WETA is not bad but too much talk.
I still like ABC Jazz out o Australia or TSF JAzz from Paris try to pick these up on your vintage rigs

And yet there is a movement in the U.K. to keep FM radio which is gaining ground because digital radio sound quality is poor compared to good FM.

Let the battles begin! :violence-duel:

Tom,

Love it!

Curious why you chose to power it from 12VDC? It should work better at 13.8-14.4 VDC, running voltage in an automobile. I bet it would be just fine at 15 volts.

Just curious.

Neat idea and nice workmanship! Well done.

Now, in your new home, pick the sports car of your choice, get a body, minus front end, and set it up in your man cave as your breakfast table! Enjoy your coffee while luxuriating in the comfy driver's seat bucket. A customer of ours used to have one in their dining room. MGB IIRC. Too cool.

Stuart. See my previous post on the battery keeping the memory intact when the receiver and charger are off.. The 3 stage charger keeps a float voltage of around 13.4V.

Can you link to the charger?

You are using a car radio with an UPS battery. I want to learn more about the power brick you are using. Is there a link for one?

Steve:
As I mentioned before I made a box and put a battery and a power relay inside along with the appropriate terminals on the front panel. It was not a purchased unit so there is no link to it. If you are referring to the "power brick" on the top, it is just a standard commercially available SLA (Sealed Lead Acid) charger and there are lots of them on the web to go with any sized SLA battery.. Just google SLA charger.
