I have a Leaf Audio mini DSD USB DAC. It works great on a laptop I have. When I connect it to a desktop, it doesn't work. I am getting "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" It will not update the driver and says the driver is up to date. Tried different USB ports. No luck.

Any suggestions?

Are you using the separate 5 volt DC supply or relying on USB power? ALso check the power switch on the DAC to make sure it is in the correct position for the power source you are using.

It looks like the dac has usb 2.0 input. If your PC is usb 3.0 output, we have seen situations where they won't communicate properly even though they should. Sometimes no sound, and sometimes music starts for a few seconds, then stops.

XMOS USB might require proprietary driver check with your manufacturer to see if one is available?

When you switched computers, did you also switch USB cables? Use the cable from your laptop that works, and try it on the desktop.

You might need to install an ASIO driver on the PC. If Leaf doesn't provide one, try ASIO4ALL.

Tried another USB cable. Tried ASIO. I didn't bring a power supply. Is there another driver to be used?

:character-oldtimer: Try starting over... Go into the Windows device manager and delete the Leaf. Shut down, remove the Leaf and boot the machine. If there are specific drivers for the Leaf, load them first, then plug in the Leaf...

Have you tried it with Foobar2000 as shown in this setup for the DAC?
