How about something like the Hegeman omnidirectional tweeters - https://www.pinterest.com/pin/339740365629305645/ |

Why would we have tweeters or mid-ranges facing toward each other? Slot loaded mids and highs? |

Omnidirectional output. You may like it, maybe not. Limits vertical dispersion, but should result in faster transients. |

I see the Chinese are planning to restrict the export of rare earth minerals so I went ahead and purchased two of the PRV's and 4 of the GRS woofers. It should be a fun project. If it doesn't work, I can reuse them in other projects. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2019/may/29/global-markets-fall-as-china-prepares-to-hit-back-at-us-in-trade-war ray |

I've got two pairs of the discontinued Dayton Audio 15" IB drivers www.daytonaudio.com/media/resources/295-455s.pdf in the garage, might make an easy to build pair with any of the 8" full-range drivers I already have... The UK bloke with the original idea liked the 95 db aspect which is what also attracts me. The Failtalpros are 91. Perhaps not a big difference but enough. Thanks for the idea though. Yes, I suspect the Dayton 15" would work well. You should have a go. Currently, I am pondering how to attach the woofers together and suspend them. Bungee cords anyone? ray |

Two of the 16ohm Faitals would get you to 94dB/w/m. And for slightly less $. Fasten them together with bolts an short lengths of steel or copper tubing. I like the look of the cradle design he had where the magnets sat in curves in the wood, but that would mean a new set of cradles for every woofer you might want to experiment with... Roscoe |

Magnets just sitting in curved pieces of wood might lead to audible vibration problems between the magnets and the wood. |

Roscoe 1/4" or smaller rope. Suspend from holes in the frames, with excess rope outside the frame. Hold in place with u-bolt clamps on the rope ends. Put thick rubber plumbing-type washers between the u-bolts and frames. Less vibration transmitted. Adjust rope length for different drivers. |
