DIY MTM Tower speakers part 2

April 6th, 2019, 7:17 pm

I started to run wires and mount the speakers, but I forgot about the sound stuffing. Where do you place the stuffing in the box?

I still need to order the crossover boards.

Usually, mounting the drivers is the LAST thing to do, not the first.

Get the crossovers built and pre-installed in the cabinet, figure out how long the wiring harness should be, then solder the leads to the crossover boards. Install the crossover, solder and install the terminals. Somewhere in this process, install the speaker damping to the walls of the cabinet. Only when all is complete, THEN install the drivers. Pay attention to polarity (you DID mark the cables from the crossover?).

Speaker wire is marked. Solid white strip is on positives. I ran all drivers individually, all drivers are mounted, and fiber is shoved behind them.

I still need to order circuit boards.
