I need 8 tubes. Four matched pairs. I can use any of the tubes based as 6L6/EL34/KT88, etc.

Thinking that KT77/EL34 are probably best. Class A amps. ~15 WPC with EL34 types.

Suggestions for best sound at a reasonable price? Shuguang Treasures and Gold Lions are out, due to cost. Keep reading Tung Sol is the way to go.

Best price places to look?

Anyone have used tubes they'd like to sell?

Thanks!

Stuart

Tung Sol doesn't exist other than as a Russian "wanna-be." They're not even close to being equals. The KT-77 is not another version of the EL-34. The KT-77 is a beam Tetrode and the EL-34 is a Pentode, but they are pin compatible.

That said -- I believe I can cough up eight tubes as a set -- I am just not sure what they are at this writing. If you're interested I can go down in the dungeon to see what I have.
